Last article from Queensland Baptists magazine Jesus - You are amazing!News from the Singles & Solos Retreat at Mt Tamborine The Bible tells us God blesses His people beyond measure. Some of that we surely tasted at the latest Singles & Solos Weekend Retreat that was held from March 6 - 8, at the QCCC venue Mount Tamborine. Once again a group of Christian singles came together for a weekend of fun, laughter, Bible teaching and fellowship; eagerly expecting God transform their hearts and lives. Starting with an extended time of worship on Friday night about 57 participants opened their hearts to the one and only God in praise for who He is and what He does in their lives. “Lead by Sam & Jesse (‘Tangerine Jam’) we invited The Holy Spirit to come and move amongst us” says Verena Adrian (‘Singles & Solos’ organising team) “ and He did in the most unexpected and amazing way.” As the weekend continued guests could enjoy workshops, interactive group discussions and personal reflection times. Some of them held outdoors in beautiful mountain surroundings, under big shady trees taking in the peace of widespread green pastures and God’s creation. The topic for the weekend - “Elements of Purpose – The Journey of a single Life” - showed about the importance of building a strong foundation in Christ and the many facets of how God enables His people to find true meaning in their lives. “Audra McHugh - our guest speaker for the weekend is very passionate about seeing people released into the purposes God has for their lives. She shared with the group in a very practical and personal way and we had wonderful prayer and worship times together.” says Verena. The absolute highlight of the weekend, as many guests pointed out later, was the sharing of testimonies on Sunday. Story after story was told how God had spoken to each one of them. Testimonies of healing, restoration, commission and faith - God gave us a glimpse of transformations that took place in people’s lives. All praise to Him! | ||
